THE RESIDENT OF V.N.K

This was formally the resident of the late Mr. Kathirgamer AMN, PJK ,JP. It’s located some 100 meters from the Bruas secondary school Sek Men Raja Shahriman.  Formally the house was surrounded with rubber and fruits tress such as rambutan, durian, star fruit, mango, coconut and etc. There were also flower plants planted by the late Mr. V.N.K for his family to enjoy.

The main building (A) was added with 2 new building (B) both on the right and left of the original house.  The left wing building was made as an office of Mr. V.N.K. It also has a bedroom attached to the main bathroom.  Where else the right wing (B) was build latter as a complete stand alone house with dining hall, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. But this building has an access to the main building.

The original building (main building) was built with solid bricks but the second floor (up stairs) flooring is made of solid meranti woods. This main building has walls of an about 1 ½ feet thickness. The house has hardly any hair line cracks ! The main building is where the family enjoys most of their time together. The lower ground houses the spacious main hall, dining hall, staircase, dry kitchen, bathroom and an attached wooden building for the wet kitchen. This wooden building was made to store 3 big clay made kitchen stove. During that period of time (in the late 50’s and 60's) no gas stove is available so the used of wood (kayu api) is the way of cooking meals.Beside having the kitchen, the wooden building has other rooms for stores (2 of them) and an early office of Mr.V.N.K.  This wooden building is no longer standing tall has it has being brought down by the new owner.

The once PALACE of Mr. V.N.K was finally sold to a Chinese gentlemen from Sitiawan, Perak. Now this legacy of Mr. V.N.K has being made as a storage area for vegetables.As for the family of Mr. V.N.K, they had finally shifted to Ipoh in the year 1980
